  • What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a very relaxed, calm state. I use a progressive relaxation technique to encourage you to relax each portion of your body until you are completely relaxed. You are fully aware of what is going on around you and are able to respond or wake if you need to.

  • Can anyone be hypnotized?

    Anyone who wants to be hypnotized can be. Remember, it’s just a state of deep relaxation, similar to just before you fall asleep at night.

  • What is self-hypnosis?

Similar to hypnosis but you do it yourself by telling yourself to relax each portion of your body and then remind yourself of your positive affirmations.

  • Why should I see a hypnotherapist instead of using recording on the internet?

Recordings on the internet are great for general problems. If you want your hypnotic suggestions to be specific and personal, an in-person hypnotherapist would work better.

  • Can a person be made to do things against their will in hypnosis?

Absolutely not. You are always fully aware of what is happening to you and what you are doing. It would also be unethical for a hypnotherapist to make any illegal or dangerous suggestions.

  • Do you put me to sleep during my session?

Not usually, hypnosis is a very relaxed state similar to how you feel just before falling asleep – aware of what is going on but very calm. Sometimes clients do fall asleep and that is just fine. When hypnosis is over, I gently wake them up.

  • Can hypnotherapy help me get past my fears, stress, and anxiety?

Yes, hypnotherapy is excellent for dealing with these issues. We explore where your fear comes from and remove the emotions from it. Once we do that, there are other techniques that can minimize the fear. For stress and anxiety, I anchor the feeling that you will feel in hypnosis so that you can access it whenever you are feeling stressed.

  • Can you do hypnotherapy via Zoom or Facetime?

Definitely. I have had great success with clients on zoom. It is very similar to being one to one in my office. It is important to have a private quiet room for your session.

  • Can you help me write affirmations to help me get more out of life?

Yes, I can. I have experience in helping hundreds of clients write affirmations for all kinds of issues including getting more out of life.

  • Is it true that stress can cause illnesses as well?

Yes, stress can contribute to physical illness. That is one of the many reasons that it is important to control stress in your life.

  • Can you help me get past bad relationship issues?

Yes, I have often been able to help clients get over bad relationships.

  • I have a ton of fear. Can you help me get over the fear in order to lead a normal life?

Fear can be helped with hypnotherapy. I have helped many clients both with specific fears (like flying, birds) or generalized fear (piano performance, achieving success).

  • Do you have payment plans?

I offer discount packages that bring the cost of any individual session down.

  • How many visits do I need?

That depends completely on you and the specific issue you want to address. I see some clients for 1-3 sessions and some for much longer. I would guess the average is about 4-6 sessions.

  • Do you take insurance?

Hypnotherapy is not covered by traditional insurance plans. Self-directed plans can usually be used to cover hypnotherapy.

  • Can I have family present during my session?

Of course, that is an option. Most clients prefer privacy.
